Job Description – Security Guard
A security guard's job is to monitor a property for safety and security, and to respond to any emergencies. Security guards are often the first to notice and act on security issues.
Responsibilities
Patrol : Regularly inspect and patrol the premises
Monitor : Monitor surveillance cameras, entrances, and exits
Control access : Authorize who can enter and exit the property
Respond to alarms : Respond to alarms and other emergencies in a timely manner
Report : Report any suspicious activity, incidents, or irregularities
Provide assistance : Assist people in need, provide information, and guide traffic
Secure : Secure doors, windows, and other entrances
Complete reports : Document all observations and incidents in reports
Be a deterrent : Be a visible deterrent to crime and rule infractions
Skills
Communication : Have excellent communication skills
Proactive : Be proactive and attentive during working hours
Independent : Be able to work independently
