The Strategic Intelligence Associate supports Burford's global strategic intelligence function by delivering timely, accurate and actionable research that informs marketing, business development, underwriting and corporate strategy.Reporting to the SVP of Strategic Intelligence, this role is responsible for executing and delivering core intelligence inputs. This includes monitoring, synthesizing and distributing intelligence; supporting the production and maintenance of high-quality commercial data; and managing core research administration processes. The role directly enables sales and marketing activity and executive decision-making while contributing to the ongoing development of Burford's strategic intelligence capabilities.The base compensation range for this role is $80,000 – $110,000. Burford also pays a discretionary annual bonus and provides welcome Restricted Stock Units to all full‑time employees. Burford pays base salaries consistent with the financial services industry and favors incentive compensation to reward performance. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of their ethnicity, race, gender, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability.POSITION REQUIREMENTSOwn the production and distribution of the Burford Daily Briefing, ensuring consistent, timely and global delivery of relevant intelligence each business dayMonitor legal, litigation, corporate and industry developments, including cases of interest, competitor activity and market signals relevant to Burford's commercial prioritiesCurate and synthesize information from legal, financial and news databases into clear, concise summaries for internal audiencesSupport the Strategic Intelligence function with background research, monitoring and briefing materials related to corporate strategy initiativesOwn the production and distribution of the quarterly competitor report and actively maintain the competitor trackerCRM, Data Quality & Salesforce SupportResearch, validate and support the enrichment and correction of contact and prospect data in Salesforce, partnering with Marketing and BD to improve data accuracy and usability in support of commercial workflows and reportingPartner with Strategic Intelligence leadership and Marketing and BD to ensure intelligence‑driven insights and research outputs are reflected accurately in CRM recordsResearch Administration & Platform ManagementManage the research subscription tracking database, including license assignments and ongoing maintenanceSupport contract renewals and vendor management in collaboration with the SVP of Strategic IntelligenceAssist with the initial setup and implementation of new research platforms as part of the intelligence stackPrepare quarterly analyses of research spend and cost allocation for Finance as neededProcess vendor invoices and support budget tracking related to research tools and subscriptions as neededSKILLS DESIREDExperience2+ years of experience in research, intelligence, data or analytical support roles, preferably within professional services, legal, financial or consulting environmentsDemonstrated experience using legal, financial and news research databasesFamiliarity with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) or structured data environmentsRelevant research experience or equivalent professional backgroundExposure to the legal industry or business of law preferredCore CompetenciesStrong research and information‑retrieval skills with attention to accuracy and detailAbility to distill large volumes of information into clear, well‑organized summariesDemonstrated ability to use Microsoft Excel at a basic to intermediate level to analyze, organize and present dataStrong written communication skills and comfort preparing executive‑ and sales‑facing materialsAbility to manage multiple requests and deadlines in a fast‑paced environmentIntellectual curiosity and interest in learning about litigation finance, legal markets and commercial strategyAbility to collaborate closely with senior leadership and incorporate feedback into research and intelligence outputsPerformance ExpectationsExecute research and intelligence requests accurately, efficiently and on deadlineEscalate questions, ambiguities or prioritization issues appropriately to the SVP of Strategic IntelligenceRemain responsive to business needs, including occasional off‑hours responsiveness, in support of a global commercial organizationContinuously build familiarity with Burford's markets, clients, competitors and intelligence priorities#J-18808-Ljbffr
