As the next Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Twin Falls, you will play an important role in helping maintain a safe, clean, and well-regulated community. In this important role, you will respond to code enforcement complaints, investigate potential violations, educate residents and property owners, and work toward voluntary compliancewhenever possible. You will help enforce public nuisance, sanitation, zoning, sign, parking, and related ordinances while representing the City with fairness, consistency, and professionalism.
As a Code Enforcement Officer, you will:
$21.97 - $26.34 per hour ($45,697 - $54,787), depending on experience
Strong customer service skills and a professional, service-oriented approach
This position performs work in both field and office settings. Field work is performed outdoors and may involve exposure to adverse weather conditions, potentially dangerous interactions with animals, hazardous waste, and stressful or confrontational situations. Some duties are performed in a general office environment and require computer use, recordkeeping, report writing, phone communication, and coordination with internal and external partners.
This position requires the ability to communicate clearly, operate a vehicle and standard equipment, conduct inspections, document findings, maintain comprehensive records, and interact professionally with the public, coworkers, law enforcement, City legal staff, and other agencies. The position may involve court or administrative hearing preparation, evidence presentation, and testimony.
The City of Twin Falls is governed under the council-manager form of city government, combining the political leadership of seven elected City Council members with the managerial experience of a city manager.
