SUMMARY
Guards campus against fire, theft, vandalism, unsafe conditions, and illegal entry by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.- Patrols, periodically, buildings and grounds of campus
- Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure
- Assures that all employees, residents, and visitors follow established policies and procedures
- Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred
- Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked
- Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Permits authorized persons to enter property
- Responds to resident call bells
- Records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning machinery or equipment in security log for each shift
- In an emergency, may perform simple maintenance duties
- Keeps entry ways and main sidewalks free of ice and snow and calls grounds contractor as necessary
- Complies with safety procedures, infection control and standard precautions
- Complies with confidentiality and residents' rights
- Complies with all CARF/CCAC guidelines and standards
- Demonstrates an awareness of, a respect for and attention to the diversity of the people with whom they interact (persons served, personnel, families/caregivers, and other stakeholders) that is reflected in attitudes, behavior and services

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and (1) one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
