ResponsibilitiesAssist on the fire protection portions of projects under the direction of a Senior Fire Protection EngineerMeet with clients and contractorsInterpret engineering data for designers and draftersCheck the drawings on a continuing basis to ensure accuracy and completeness, and promote the skills of designers and draftersMonitor the schedule and budgets for projectsReview and summarize applicable codes, and record them for inclusion in the design recordCoordinate work with other disciplines and consultantsCheck contract documents and shop drawings, and answer requests for informationAssist in writing the specifications in conjunction with the Technical Services DepartmentPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsEngineer in Training (EIT) certificateCandidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progressionRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical EngineeringAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a mustPrimary Location: United States - Texas - San AntonioIndustry: Building EngineeringSchedule: Full‑timeEmployee Status: RegularBusiness Class: Fire and Life SafetyJob Posting: Apr 2, 2026#J-18808-Ljbffr
