INNOVIM Defense Services is seeking a Network Virtualization Engineer to join our team supporting the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) program at the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). INNOVIM supports the development, implementation, sustainment, and operations of enclaves and systems that manage missile defense training, events, analysis, and operations.ResponsibilitiesServe as a Network Virtualization Engineer and Developer supporting network build‑out and deployments to the C2BMC Test Facility as necessary to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA)Work on complex assignments and perform a wide range of VMware system administration activities with little to no direct supervisionProvide root‑cause analysis for recurring or critical problemsWork closely with a team of system administrators, network engineers, and cybersecurity administrators to maintain a high‑quality test environment for the Government customerPerform vulnerability remediation and mitigations to reduce cybersecurity risks and ensure DoD complianceConduct daily system monitoring, system backup and restoration, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operationsDocument necessary system changes and actions in appropriate systems of record to ensure historical data is captured per customer and mission requirementsAdvise Government customer on system status, optimization and improvement efforts in accordance with program objectives and design baselines as neededAssist system administration team with the deployment of new virtual machinesPerform administration of virtualization environments including troubleshooting, break/fix activities, patching and remediation of servers, and system audit log reviews as neededHave good written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience briefing customers and managing.Have a strong understanding of troubleshooting and configuration of VMware to include protocols and switching, best practice configurations, connectivity, and networking conceptsBasic RequirementsMust have 10 or more years of general (full‑time) work experienceMay be reduced with completion of advanced educationMust have 7 or more years of directly related experienceMust have 1 or more years of experience working in a management or leadership roleMust have experience in Internet Protocols (e.g., DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSL), firewall configuration and troubleshooting multiple network types of telecommunications infrastructuresMust be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing toolsMust be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers as well as independently on large field projectsMust have a deep understanding of Foundational VCF Infrastructure including Virtualization (vSphere), Networking (NSX) and Storage (vSAN)Must be able to use SDDC Manager to patch, upgrade and provide overall system maintenanceMust have a fundamental understanding of how traffic flows through logical routers with the ability to implement these concepts in an NSX environmentMust be able to configure distributed stateful firewalling, NAT, load balancing and micro‑segmentation using NSXMust have experience with the design, installation, upgrading and migration of storage using VMware vSANMust be able to migrate virtual machines and workloads from deprecated versions of vSphere to VMware Cloud FoundationMust have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+, CySA, etc.) or higherMust have an active DoD Secret Security ClearanceDesired RequirementsHave a demonstrated understanding of the project management lifecycle and related processesHave experience with PIM, L2 and L3 multicast and type I encryption devicesHave experience with VXLAN, Juniper Apstra, VMWare Aria and RHEL AnsibleHave experience with HPE server productsHave experience creating and configuring virtual distributed switchesHave a VMware Certified Technical Associate – Data Center Virtualization (VCTA), VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP‑DCV), VCAP Design, VCAP Deploy or VCDX‑DCV CertificationHave knowledge of Missile Defense, DoD communications systems and MDIOC operationsHave a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA) certificationHave experience with network monitoringHave experience with Python or PowerShell programming and scriptingHave a degree in an IT or Engineering related disciplineHave an understanding of various development life cycles such as the Systems Engineering life cycle (SELC), ITIL, SDLC, etc.This position is expected to pay $110,000 – $130,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.IDS is committed to providing superior work in the fields of science, engineering, data analytics and technology to government agencies.
