Senior Enterprise Atlassian Engineer
Location: Washington, DC (100% On-Site)
Clearance: Active Top Secret required Overview
We are seeking a Senior Atlassian Engineer to support a mission-critical federal program focused on enterprise collaboration and workflow modernization. This role will be responsible for administering and scaling enterprise-level collaboration platforms across secure, multi-environment infrastructures.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience managing and optimizing large-scale Atlassian ecosystems, with the ability to support both day-to-day operations and long-term platform enhancements in a highly secure environment. Key Responsibilities Administer and maintain enterprise collaboration platforms, including issue tracking and knowledge management systems
Support daily operations, including user access requests, configuration changes, and system troubleshooting
Design and enhance workflows, dashboards, reporting, templates, and permission structures
Manage third-party integrations and plugins, including installation, upgrades, performance monitoring, and issue resolution
Support identity and access management integrations, including SSO and directory services
Perform platform maintenance activities such as upgrades, patching, deployments, backups, and monitoring
Ensure systems meet security, compliance, and audit requirements, including documentation and configuration standards
Collaborate with engineering, security, and mission stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure platform capabilities
Align collaboration tools with Agile delivery practices and team workflows Required Qualifications Active Top Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, OR equivalent experience
5+ years of experience supporting enterprise collaboration platforms or IT systems
Hands-on experience administering enterprise Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms)
Experience configuring workflows, automations, and system customizations
Familiarity with Linux environments and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar)
Understanding of federal security and compliance frameworks, including ATO-related processes
Strong communication skills with experience working across cross-functional technical teams
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with shifting priorities
Experience supporting or aligning tools to Agile development methodologies Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting high-security or multi-environment (multi-enclave) systems
Experience integrating intelligent automation or AI-driven capabilities into enterprise tools
Familiarity with enterprise identity platforms and advanced access control models
