Trillium Drivers is now seeking a Dispatcher / Transportation Coordinator for work in Nashville!

This is a 2+ Month Assignment.

Transportation Coordinator administers facets of the transportation operation. Responsibilities include dispatching, Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance, preventive maintenance scheduling and routine administrative duties.

This position provides leadership and direction, coordinating with managers to ensure customer's expectations are met, costs are controlled, equipment is well maintained and the appearance of our drivers, trucks and trailers meet standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and schedules the day-to-day activities of transportation employees.
  • Adheres to operational procedures.
  • Dispatches Drivers, based on the need of the organization, receives phone calls from Drivers and 3PL carriers.
  • Tracks Driver's routes to ensure deliveries and pick-ups on time.
  • Reviews and arranges all transportation paperwork inclusive of DVIR's, trip reports and invoices.
  • Collaborates with Director, Transportation to enhance load capacity and reduce empty miles.
  • Handles concerns and directs problems to suitable parties.
  • Maintains dock schedule for external 3PL deliveries.
  • Records driver concerns along with policy violations and directs appropriate issues to the Director, Transportation.
  • Addresses safety infractions and DOT violations with all Drivers.
  • Supports management team in supervision of transportation department personnel.
  • Ensures compliance of all operational procedures.
  • Performs field checks and ensures safety and efficiency.
  • Regularly reports company vehicle and equipment condition.
  • Files reports for any delivery delays, incidents and/or accidents.
  • Fosters open communication with Drivers, Agency Relations Managers, staff members, agencies, and donors.
  • Coordinates the maintenance and repair of vehicles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience: 1+ years of related experience and/or training. Strong oral and written communication abilities - Microsoft Office and ability to operate office machines
