SOI Field Archaeologist – South CarolinaWe have an immediate opportunity for a SOI-Qualified Field Archaeologist to conduct field work and analytics in the Spartanburg, South Carolina area. This is a Monday-Friday, 10-hour workday position.DutiesRecording, mapping, and where designated, sampling of extant cultural features to characterize the nature, location, extent, and approximate age of cultural deposits and associated featuresAbility to identify subsurface archaeological features with thorough documentation, mapping, sampling of potential prehistorical and historic cultural remains and featuresExperience with isolated surface finds and how they should be properly recorded, and where appropriate sampledAbility to provide oversight and guidance on cultural feature avoidance during anticipated work activities for multiple specialized crews (e.g. vegetation crews and dig teams)Supporting periodic Government inspections conducted to ensure archaeological reconnaissance survey and monitoring are performed in accordance with the approved Final Cultural Resources Monitoring Plan (CRMP)Prepare Daily Archaeological Monitoring Reports on dates and GIS location when work is completed using company's reporting systemEducation & ExperienceMaster's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or closely related fieldRequired - SOI Qualified Field ArchaeologistOne or more years of full-time professional experience or equivalent specialized training in archaeological researchFour months of supervised field and analytics experience in general North American archaeology6-12 months experience in South Carolina or the southeastern United StatesDetail oriented and have the ability to carry research to completionExcellent written and communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and archaeological software and databases#J-18808-Ljbffr
