We are a family-owned company that believes in promoting from within and investing in our employees.Position Summary:The Fire Watcher is responsible for monitoring work areas where hot work activities are being performed, such as welding, cutting, grinding, or torch work. The Fire Watcher helps prevent fires by identifying hazards, maintaining a safe work environment, and responding quickly to potential fire risks. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.Position DetailsTemporary Full-Time Position.40 Hours Per Week.Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour , depending on experience.Multiple openings available.Project-based assignment with the potential for extension based on business needs.Available ShiftsDay Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PMAfternoon Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PMOvernight Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AMEssential Duties and Responsibilities Monitor areas where hot work is being conducted.Watch for sparks, heat sources, and combustible materials that could create a fire hazard.Maintain constant surveillance of the work area during hot work operations.Ensure fire extinguishers and other fire suppression equipment are readily available and operational.Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, or hazards to supervisors.Sound alarms and initiate emergency response procedures if a fire occurs.Maintain fire watch for the required period after hot work has been completed.Ensure work permits and safety procedures are followed.Keep work areas clean and free of combustible materials.Communicate effectively with contractors, maintenance personnel, and site leadership regarding safety concerns.Key Objective: Protect people, property, and equipment by actively monitoring hot work activities and preventing fire-related incidents.
