Fuel your career with GEODIS and discover endless growth opportunities.What you will be doing:Logs all orders booked and all work performed onto dispatch sheetDispatches all runs in a timely manner to ensure deliveries are made as scheduledMoves loaded and empty containers to and from the rail in order to meet pre-scheduled cut-off times for export loads and to prevent storage charges for inbound loads and emptiesMaintains an accurate inventory of equipmentProvides customers with accurate and timely information regarding activity and equipment inventoriesAssists in billing by writing up cover sheets and matching with work orders or delivery ordersAssists Terminal Manager in all phases of managing the operationCompiles list of available vehiclesAssigns vehicles according to factors such as length and purpose of trip, freight requirements, and preference of userIssues keys, record sheets, credentials, and equipment to driversRecords time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of returnInvestigates overdue vehiclesDirects activities of drivers by two-way radioTracks in-transit shipmentsConfers with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandiseMaintains record of mileage, fuel used, repairs made, and other expensesOther duties as required and assignedRequirements:Minimum 6 months related experience and/or trainingAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsJob Duties as documented in this job description are considered “Essential Functions” and have been created by the standards of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
