Duties / Responsibilities
• Manage the full development lifecycle for resilient software, hardware, and web-based applications, ensuring all products meet mission, performance, and cybersecurity requirements.
• Oversee the specification phase by gathering technical requirements, translating user needs into detailed system specifications, and ensuring alignment with program objectives.
• Lead system and component-level design activities, coordinating with engineering teams to develop architectures, interfaces, and integration plans that support scalability and long-term sustainment.
• Direct coding and implementation efforts, ensuring adherence to best practices, configuration management standards, and secure development methodologies.
• Plan, execute, and evaluate testing activities—including unit tests, integration tests, and system-level verification—to validate performance, reliability, and compliance with design specifications.
• Manage maintenance and update cycles by monitoring system performance, identifying issues, implementing corrective actions, and incorporating enhancements based on evolving requirements.
• Facilitate technical reviews, sprint planning sessions, and cross-functional team coordination to ensure development milestones are met on schedule.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering personnel, promoting continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the development team. Education and Experience
• Master's degree in an engineering discipline such as systems engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in systems engineering, with demonstrated expertise in system lifecycle management, system integration, and complex technical problem-solving. Desired Experience / Skills
• 9–12 years of direct Aegis Ashore experience, including applied understanding of system architecture, operational concepts, lifecycle support processes, and programmatic requirements.
• Experience coordinating development and engineering activities across Government and contractor teams in support of integrated weapons systems or command-and-control environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and adapt to evolving technical and programmatic requirements.
