Job Title

Duties And Responsibilities
Facilitate the execution of the Basic Police Officer Courses (BPOC) by maintaining the curriculum, teaching the Course of Instruction (COI), identifying required and future training and development needs, developing training programs, conducting training appraisals, devising lesson plans, monitoring and reviewing the progress of students, maintaining student training records and solving specific training problems. Training materials are required to be provided prior to execution of scheduled training.
Meet and maintain the standards and certifications, inclusive of annual marksmanship qualifications and Use of Force certifications.
Demonstrate an understanding of the training requirements for all courses offered by the Academy.
Provide instruction for LE courses
Carry out other tasks as requested and assigned by the corporation, in time and manner. Likewise, the employee must adhere to and abide by what is established in the policies, regulations, codes, and provisions of the company. For example: To Download and install of apps needed, to take on-line training, etc.
Travel Requirement: Three (3) Instructors may be required to travel four (4) times annually in support of MTTs.
Required
- Associate's Degree in any field
- A minimum of six (6) years' experience in DOD law enforcement; and three (3) years' experience as an instructor, trainer and/or training support
- Must be certified in the below skills within 60 days of on-boarding as an instructor:
- Firearms training – NRA Law Enforcement Handgun and Shotgun certified instructor or a Service approved alternative (at the discretion of the Executive Director)
- NRA Patrol Rifle Instructor Course or a Service approved alternative
- Defensive Tactics (as approved by the Executive Director)
- Oleoresin Capsicum Spray - INIWIC or Service approved alternative; National Safety Council (NSC) CPR/Advanced First Aid/AED/BBP Instructor certified
- TASER – INIWIC or Manufacturer certified (as approved by Executive Director)
- Standard Field Sobriety Testing – certified to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration standards and/or RSO certification per Fort Leonard Wood Policy and Procedures
- Must be capable of supporting a ratio of 1 instructor to every 5 students of coursework
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or closely related field
- Experience working as Policy or Law Enforcement SME within DOD/DOJ/Criminal Justice
