ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with District and higher‑level employees concerning review and approval of Branch work and resolve problems that arise during design or construction.Ensure that Engineer and Construction personnel are properly aligned to meet ERDC engineering and construction needs.Plan work to be accomplished and coordinate work of subordinate sections within the Branch and with other divisions within the District.Establish performance standards and make evaluations on all positions in the Branch; give technical/administrative advice, counsel, or instructions to subordinates.Work with each of the Engineer and Construction Branches, and in coordination with the project manager, to ensure customers' needs and expectations are met in a timely and efficient manner.RequirementsAppointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Position is designated as Non‑Sensitive; no access is required.Professional Engineer Registration is required.Position requires pre‑employment financial disclosure and annual disclosure in accordance with DoD Directive 5500‑7‑R.A one‑year probation to assess ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.QualificationsBasic Requirement for EngineerDegree: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program or a program that meets the specified curriculum and course requirements (statics, dynamics, strength of materials, fluid mechanics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, electrical fields and circuits, materials science, or an equivalent area).Alternative: Combination of Education and Experience that demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering and a good understanding of engineering sciences and techniques.Qualifying evidence may include professional registration or licensure, passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination, successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of specified courses, or a related curriculum with at least one year of professional engineering experience.Basic Requirement for ArchitectDegree: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in architecture or a related field that includes 60 semester hours of coursework in architecture, with required concentrations in architectural design, structural technology, construction materials, and environmental control systems.Alternative: Combination of Education and Experience that demonstrates a thorough knowledge of professional architecture, with at least one year of experience in an architect's office or architectural work for each year short of graduation; if no college courses, five years of such experience required.Specialized Experience : One year of specialized experience that includes planning work, setting priorities, preparing schedules, interviewing candidates for positions, recommending selections, and overseeing the preparation and administration of Architect‑Engineer Services contracts.Experience cannot be substituted by education for this position.Evaluation AreasInfluencing / NegotiatingLeadershipProgram ManagementTime in Grade RequirementApplicants who have held a General Schedule position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS‑13).Selection Placement FactorPosition requires possession of a current Professional Engineer (PE) registration issued by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.Foreign EducationForeign education must be evaluated by a recognized private organization and deemed equivalent to a U.S. accredited program, or full credit must be granted for equivalent courses.Additional RequirementsMale applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre‑Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.Position requires a one‑year probationary period during which performance and conduct are evaluated.Direct deposit of pay is required.Submission of a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry and annually thereafter.Selection is subject to restrictions from the Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.Position is within the Construction, Engineering & Infrastructure Career Field.Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement.Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized.#J-18808-Ljbffr
