Duties and ResponsibilitiesAnalyze unclassified and classified documents to determine the appropriate action and release procedures needed in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (5 USC § 552), Privacy Act (5 USC § 552(a)), E.O. 13526, and applicable sections of the CFR and DoD Manuals and InstructionsInterpret regulations, agency enforcement codes, and organizational policies regarding release of agency documents upon receipt of an appellate requestEnsure released materials does not contain personal identifiers or directly or indirectly reveal trade secrets and other information exempted under the applicable statutesPropose, redactions for both internal components and final external release to the requestorSupport the administrative processing of FOIA Appeal Requests including but not limited to:Composition of official case correspondencePerfect Requests with requestorsNegotiate additional response timeMake recommendations on fees and fee waiversCoordinate with internal OSD offices and Subject Matter Experts on conducting searches and initial reviews for responsive documentsDemonstrate understanding of document markings and control proceduresRecognize lawfully protected marked and unmarked Nuclear and Intelligence InformationQualifications and RequirementsDoD Top Secret clearance Required – SCI Preferred1+ Years of FOIA/FOIA-like (MDR, FRUS) processing experienceBachelor's Degree in information management related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experiencePreferred SkillsKnowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe PDFDemonstrate strong analytical skills, reading comprehension, and attention to detailAbility to multi-task, work in a team environment, and adjust to established work patterns and processes as requiredPossess exceptional leadership and communication skills (both oral and written)Salary range for this position is $70,000–$80,000 annually.We are equal opportunity/affirmative action employers, committed to diversity in the workplace.
