Immigration AdvisorSalary Range: $48,800 - $61,000 annuallyLocation: Hanover, NH (Hybrid)Employment: Regular Full Time, 40 hours per week.Position Purpose: Member of the team responsible for providing international student and scholar immigration services, including immigration advising, processing of immigration sponsorship documents, serving as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO), and ensuring compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as DSO and ARO, advising international students and scholars on maintenance of status, extensions, change of status, international travel, employment, and dependent family member status.Update and create online advising materials and training materials for the international population and professional schools.Support student registration, check‑in, orientation, and employment requests, especially during peak periods.Prepare and submit required immigration documentation (Form I‑20, Form DS‑2019) and maintain records in Banner/Data Warehouse, Sunapsis, and SEVIS.Audit and run reports of student and scholar data in Banner/Data Warehouse, Sunapsis, and SEVIS to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.Keep the director and OVIS staff informed of SEVIS updates to student employment.Demonstrate professionalism, collegiality, and inclusive communication in an environment welcoming to all.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's degree and 1–2 years of experience in higher‑education advising for F‑1 students and J‑1 exchange visitors, or equivalent education/experience.U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency (required to serve as DSO/ARO).Familiarity with U.S. immigration regulations, SEVIS, Banner, Sunapsis, and related database management and reporting tools.Strong detail orientation, organizational and administrative skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Excellent oral and written communication and cross‑cultural sensitivity.Commitment to diversity and effective time management.Experience handling confidential information.Preferred: Master's degree in a relevant field.Equal Opportunity StatementDartmouth College is an equal‑opportunity employer under federal law.
