Position OverviewA Prudential Center Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment at The Prudential Center by securing the premises, controlling access, conducting patrols, and responding to incidents. This position requires professionalism, alertness, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team during all hours of operation.ResponsibilitiesConduct routine and random patrols of the facilitiesMonitor CCTV, alarms, and access control systemsControl access for employees, visitors, and vendorsRespond to incidents, emergencies, and alarmsEnforce facility rules, policies, and safety proceduresObserve, report, and document suspicious or unsafe activityComplete detailed incident and shift reportsProvide customer service while maintaining a visible security presenceCoordinate with supervisors, law enforcement, and emergency respondersAssist with evacuations, medical emergencies, and incident managementQualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDValid government‑issued photo IDAbility to work all shifts, including overnight, weekends, and holidaysStrong communication and observation skillsAbility to remain alert during extended shiftsAbility to write clear and accurate reportsMust possess a valid New Jersey SORA (Security Officer Registration Act) certificationMust maintain SORA registration in good standing at all timesMust complete all required annual refresher training as mandated by the New Jersey State PolicePrior security, law enforcement, or military experienceExperience in a 24‑hour or high‑traffic facilityCPR, First Aid, or emergency response certification1‑2 years of Security ExperienceExperience using surveillance and access control systemsMaintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all timesDemonstrate integrity, discretion, and sound judgmentTreat all individuals with respect while enforcing policies consistentlyWorking ConditionsFacility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a weekDay, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts requiredRotating or fixed schedules as assignedWork may include indoor and outdoor patrols in all weather conditionsAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsPhysically fit to perform the functions of a 24 Hr Security GuardAbility to respond quickly in emergency situationsCompensationThe pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $17 and $19/hour. Hourly non‑exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
