Each season offers not only a vast quantity of music, but also a vast range of musical forms and styles, all of it presented with a regard for artistic excellence that makes the festival unique.About the RoleAs a member of the Patron Experience team, this role is responsible for managing access control to and from the Tanglewood grounds. The position ensures accurate and efficient entry while creating a welcoming first impression. Through attentive, personalized service and adherence to established procedures, the Gate Attendant helps deliver a secure, seamless, and positive arrival experience for all guests.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESPatron Engagement and Access ControlGreet all patrons entering the Tanglewood grounds with a professional, friendly, and safety-minded attitude.Use electronic scanners to accurately validate tickets, inspecting for authenticity and compliance with event policies.Remain vigilant and attentive at designated posts throughout the duration of the event through completion of audience egress, reporting any safety or security concerns. immediately.Ensure the safe and orderly ingress and egress of patrons by managing line control at the gates, collaborating with public safety as neededVetting service animals' entrance onto the Tanglewood groundsMonitor for prohibited items or behaviors, ensuring compliance with Tanglewood protocols.Respond promptly to any ticketing discrepancies or patron issues, escalating to management or security personnel when necessary.Follow established emergency protocols and provide support during evacuations, weather related emergencies, medical incidents, or other urgent situations.Operational EfficiencyConduct pre-event equipment checks, related to testing of ticket scanners to ensure functionality.Utilize radio communication with other gate attendants and managersParticipate in daily briefings with team leader to stay informed of event-specific concerns or information.Information and AssistanceProvide accurate and courteous assistance to patrons regarding performance schedules, grounds layout, and other relevant information as neededRequired Education and ExperienceRequired Skills and ExperiencePrior customer service experience in dealing with high volume crowds and an emphasis on resolving issues calmly and effectively.Technical proficiency with BSO systems and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues at the gates.Strong communication skills and the ability to de-escalate conflict diplomatically.High school diploma or equivalent.Physical Requirements:Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and work in outdoor conditions, including extreme heat or inclement weather.Comfort with lifting and carrying light objects.Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.Pay Rate Range: $17.75 - $18.10The BSO is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.#J-18808-Ljbffr
