Fire Protection Engineer – Dallas, TexasResponsibilitiesDevelop fire protection designs in support of various Buildings Business Line projects.Lead the planning, design, and commissioning of building fire protection systems, building fire suppression systems, and building fire alarm systems.Coordinate with other support disciplines and regional offices.Assist project managers in project management activities.Follow quality assurance and quality control plans.Travel periodically to project sites.Skills & AttributesKnowledge of fire protection, suppression, and alarm principles.Mentor and train technical staff.Interface with clients on project design, delivery, and construction.Manage project budget and schedule compliance.Oversee the fire protection design of building projects throughout the project lifecycle.Utilize BIM design software to produce construction drawings.Use software-based calculation tools for design calculations.Manage multiple assignments concurrently.Manage time and product quality.Follow quality assurance and quality control plans.Engage in continuing education and learning based on project needs and overall team needs.RequirementsBachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university or college.Licensed Professional Engineer having passed the Fire Protection examination.5-10 years of building design and construction industry experience.Strong knowledge base of fire protection engineering principals related to building fire protection designs.Proven experience overseeing fire protection designs, including detailed plans and specifications for building projects.Strong communication skills.Experience with Autodesk Revit.Proficiency with MS Office Suite.Preferred SkillsExperience with AIA MasterSpec.Knowledge of Federal Agencies design criteria.Equal Employment Opportunity StatementGarver is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees.
