OpportunityUlteig is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Traffic Engineer. The selected candidate will engage with Ulteig's civil teams to provide innovative design solutions to facilitate the development and design of transportation projects and be an integral part of the growing traffic and planning team.QualificationsExecute complex assignments under minimal supervisionPrioritize work tasks to meet scheduled delivery datesSelf-motivated with excellent communication skillsAbility to work in a collaborative environmentSuccessfully manage multiple projects simultaneouslyWhat You Will DoCreate traffic and transportation models for a variety of projects, including corridor studies, signal timing, multimodal planning studies, traffic safety studies, parking studies, etc.Analyze a wide range of transportation and planning data and assist with technical analyses, feasibility and planning studies, traffic reports, and other transportation reports or memorandums.Perform calibration, validation, and testing of models to ensure adequacy and reformulate models as necessary.Interpret data from traffic modeling software and incorporate it into transportation models.Develop professional experience using traffic forecasting software (e.g., Dynus‑T, Visum, Cube/Voyager, TransCAD) and traffic analysis software (e.g., TransModeler, Vissim, Corsim, Synchro, TruTraffic, Rodel, HCS, and Vision Zero Suite)Work closely with the Planning group to provide assistance for planning studies (master transportation plans, bike/ped plans)Apply strong written and oral communication skills in presentation of work activities to internal project teams and external client and stakeholder groups.Required ExperienceBachelor's degree in civil engineering, transportation, urban planning, or a related area of study from an ABET-accredited college or university.Minimum 5+ years of relevant modeling experience.The ability to coordinate with the internal team and clients effectively.Strong writing skills, detail-oriented, and able to communicate ideas and synthesize/compile text for reports.Knowledge of the principles and practices of planning, modeling, transportation data collection and analysis.Experience working with large data sets.Experience in some or all of the following tools: ArcMap, mapping & spatial processing of socioeconomic & demographic data, travel demand modeling software such as TransCAD & Cube/Voyager, ETL with traffic big data such as StreetLight Data, traffic operations & microscopic modeling software such as TransModeler, HCS, Synchro, SimTraffic, SIDRA Corsim, Rodel, Vistro & Vissim; additionally tools such as Dynus‑T, Visum, Corsim, TruTraffic, and Vision Zero Suite.Experience in CAD Software Applications such as C3D or Bentley MicroStation preferred.Working knowledge of programming languages (such as Python, R, Java)Experience in building dashboards (Tableau, Power BI)Experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)Experience in graphic design using software such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement.Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.BenefitsFlexible WorkplaceEmployee OwnershipCompetitive PayComprehensive Benefits PackageCollaborative EnvironmentInnovative CultureCompensationTarget Base Compensation Range for this role is $111,200 - $150,400.Equal Opportunity EmployerEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities.This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.For further information, please review the Know Your Rights notice from the Department of Labor.#J-18808-Ljbffr
