Loss Prevention Officer

Immediate opening for a full-time Loss Prevention Officer - $21/hr

Job description:

  • Identify and apprehend shoplifters through floor patrol and the use of closed circuit TV cameras
  • Report writing
  • Interacting with local law enforcement as needed
  • Provide courtroom testimony as required

Job requirement:

  • Pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening
  • Must be able to get license through Columbia PD
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 3-4 hours at a time
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately through verbal and written means
  • Ability to write legible, accurate and easily understood reports
  • Must be assertive, yet controlled in dealing with confrontation
  • Must be trustworthy and able to work under little or no direct supervision
  • Attendance for scheduled shifts. Tardiness and absenteeism is not tolerated
  • Previous loss prevention or law enforcement experience is a plus but not a requirement
  • Criminal justice or related studies a plus- high school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
