Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Coordination of the overall operation within an assigned functional area
- Ensuring adequate operational coverage; responsible for scheduling and manpower utilization
- Maintaining a safe, dependable, and consistent operation
- Conducting agent observations
- Scheduling and administering local training including new hire training
- Maintaining supplies and inventory control logs
- Preparing customer correspondence, investigating discrepancies, and compiling statistical data for reports
- Completing administrative duties
- Performing station agent work within the ramp service operation, as required
- Loading and unloading baggage and cargo on and off aircraft
- Transporting items between terminals, aircraft, and the bag room using belt-loaders, tugs, carts, and other equipment
- Marshaling aircraft which requires working closely with teammates to ensure a safe path
- Cleaning and servicing cabin interiors, including seatback pockets, cushions, tray tables, overhead bins, cockpit, galley, and the lavatory
- De-icing aircraft which requires using equipment to apply chemicals/compounds, if applicable
- Organizing work groups and handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
Requirements include:
- Minimum age: 18
- High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent
- Possess a valid, unexpired, and unsuspended REAL ID-compliant, state driver's license; or otherwise maintain all necessary authority and identification to travel for business needs as required; some license restrictions may prohibit a candidate from being considered for this role.
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, holidays, weekends, days off, and be able to report to work on a regular and timely basis
- Flexible to work additional hours beyond the regular shift, on short notice, and as needed due to operational necessity
- Must be able to perform all duties in various weather conditions and time constraints
- Must be able to carry, bend, lift, and turn with bags weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language
- Possess the legal right to work in the United States
- A minimum of one year of customer service experience preferred
- Previous experience in a team-lead capacity preferred
- Organization and interpersonal skills are necessary
- Above-average qualities of leadership, initiative, and judgment are essential
- Administrative background preferred
- Above average attendance preferred
- Some locations may desire previous airline experience including working knowledge of an airline's ticketing system and/or ramp operations
