The Court Security Officer is responsible for maintaining order in the Sullivan County Superior Court in compliance with all established laws, policies and guidelines set forth by the Sheriff and the State of New Hampshire. The Court Security Officer performs a variety of administrative functions to assist the Judge, Jury and Court Administrative Staff.Assists the Judges and Clerks of the Court with court proceedings and addresses all security concerns with the High Sheriff.Takes all necessary measures in accordance with training to maintain security in the Courthouse. Maintains a professional demeanor and portrayal in interactions with staff and the public.Performs duties with compliance and adherence to Sullivan County Sheriff's Office Professional Standards of Conduct as well as the Sheriff's Office Court Security/Bailiff Manual. Court Security Officer must annually qualify with Office weapon, and maintain any other qualifications required by the State of New Hampshire.Aids and assists in the comfort and security of jurors in the court rooms and on "jury views".Ensures that court rooms are opened and secured at appropriate times throughout the business day.Removes incarcerated persons from the Sheriff's Office holding cells to respective court rooms, maintains custody and returns same thereafter in coordination with other members of the Sheriff's Office.Ensures that all individuals entering the court are free from dangerous contraband and ensure that everyone is to enter the court area through the Magnetometer area in accordance with procedure.Monitors video surveillance equipment and communicates with other court security personnel via portable radio.Communicates with other departments within the Newport Complex regarding activities at the Magnetometer in relation to their specific department.May at times be requested to assist the Sullivan County Probate Court to perform court security functions.A candidate for this position must be of excellent moral and ethical character. They must be a high school graduate or equivalent and have no criminal record. A background in law Enforcement is preferred but not required and be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.#J-18808-Ljbffr
