Summary
Security Support Specialist (Junior)Information security is critical to protecting the Air Force's most sensitive personnel, facilities, operations, and classified programs. This position supports the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Training Directorate (WN) by providing day-to-day security support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities. Working under the direction of Government security personnel, you will assist in protecting classified information and supporting Information Protection operations in accordance with Department of Defense and Air Force security policies.In this role, you will support a wide range of security disciplines, including information security, personnel security, operations security, industrial security, physical security, communications security, and anti‑terrorism/force protection activities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Provide technical security support for classified programs within the assigned organization.Support SCI and SAP activities, including personnel security, classified facilities, and program security requirements.Assist with the development of Security Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other security documentation.Perform classification reviews of inbound and outbound correspondence.Monitor Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and coordinate alarm response activities.Prepare, process, and review visitor certification requests and verify access eligibility.Maintain facility access control, visitor escort requirements, and badge issuance records.Conduct annual self-inspections and assist with corrective action plans.Maintain accountability for classified material, including receipt, storage, inventory, transmittal, and disposition.Maintain security databases and generate reports supporting classified information management.Assist with SCIF opening and closing procedures, end‑of‑day security checks, and alarm activities.Coordinate classified meetings and associated security requirements.Support security awareness, education, and training activities.Perform administrative and program security support functions as assigned.24/7 Support can be on 1 of 3 shifts.Required Skills/EducationEducation: Bachelor's degree in a related field and up to three (3) years of related experience; OR five (5) years of directly related experience with required training and certifications in accordance with the Performance Work Statement.Years of Experience: Up to three (3) years of experience supporting DoD security operations involving classified information, personnel security, physical security, industrial security, or program security; or five (5) years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree.Travel: Yes, within the organization's area of responsibility.Security Clearance Required: Active Tier 3 / Secret Clearance.Position Type: Full TimeWork Location: Wright‑Patterson AFB, OH (Off base Facility)#J-18808-Ljbffr
