Job Title: Loss Prevention AgentDepartment: Security
Reports to: Loss Prevention Supervisor
Position Summary: Loss Prevention Officers maintains a presence in the public retail space undercover in an assigned store to monitor customers and associates for unusual behavior to prevent potential theft, vandalism and loss of Company property while maintaining a safe business environment.
Job duties:
- Must maintain good judgment while surveilling potential shoplifters to avoid liability due to false arrest.
- Remain alert and monitors public areas for suspicious activity (shoplifters, robberies and other security problems) and safety issues on Company property.
- Monitors all back warehouse areas, walk-in chills/freezers which can provide additional opportunities of pilferage by associates.
- Following and confronting suspected shoplifters.
- Will maintain a log of incidents that occurred during your shift.
- Fills out an incident report on suspicious activities or security issues that will be forwarded to the Loss Prevention Supervisor.
- Working with law enforcement to arrest and prosecute suspected shoplifters and dishonest associates.
- Must be willing to go to court to prosecute.
- Must be willing to travel from store to store in own vehicle.
- Understand and abide by all company policies and procedures
- Any tasks as deemed necessary by management in time of need or emergency.
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- Must have drivers license and have your own vehicle.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time unassisted
- Must be able to walk and run unassisted.
- Must be able to lift up to 40-50 lbs. unassisted.
- Good communication and observation skills.
- Proficient in reading and writing in English
- Previous experience working in security or loss prevention in retain operations preferred
- High school diploma or GED.
- State of Hawaii Guard Card.
- Air condition while in store, subject to outside conditions of heat, rain, and wind .
- Very fast paced
Starting rate of pay: $20.00/hr.
