Dispatcher

Prairie Field Services is looking for a dependable, organized, and motivated dispatcher to join our team in Casper, Wyoming.

Our dispatchers play an important role in keeping our transportation operations running smoothly. In this position, you'll work closely with drivers, customers, and our operations team to coordinate schedules, communicate changes, solve problems, and make sure our drivers have the support they need throughout their shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily dispatch operations by providing reliable support to drivers and customers while maintaining clear and timely communication.
  • Schedule and dispatch drivers based on customer requests, job specifications, driver availability, and operational needs.
  • Prepare daily dispatch plans and clearly communicate schedules, assignments, and changes to drivers and relevant team members.
  • Monitor active loads and deliveries and proactively address delays, scheduling conflicts, and other issues to maintain service levels.
  • Serve as a dependable point of contact for drivers throughout the shift, providing information, assistance, and support as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of dispatch activities, driver logs, schedules, and customer communications.
  • Work closely with the logistics and operations teams to coordinate resources, optimize routes, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Utilize dispatch software and other technology to manage assignments, track activity, and maintain accurate operational data.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries, communicating updates, and resolving dispatch-related concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities, customer needs, driver availability, and unexpected operational challenges.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in dispatching, logistics, trucking, transportation, or a related coordination role preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with drivers, customers, and coworkers.
  • Proficiency with dispatch software, Microsoft Office, and general computer systems.
  • Ability to remain calm, organized, and solution-focused in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, DOT requirements, Hours of Service, and applicable safety standards is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in logistics or transportation are a plus.
  • Must be dependable and able to consistently work the scheduled 5:00 AM- 5:00PM, with a 4/3- 3/4 rotation.
