Code Enforcement Officer

Aoka is a third-party municipal services provider serving jurisdictions across Texas. We support local governments with expert code enforcement, property inspections, and regulatory consulting—powered by proprietary software that streamlines enforcement processes, ensures compliance, and helps prevent costly violations.

We are seeking experienced Code Enforcement Officers to support municipal partners on a part-time, on-call basis.

Responsibilities
  • Patrol and monitor residential, commercial, and public properties to ensure compliance with local codes, ordinances, and safety regulations
  • Conduct property and construction site inspections, identifying violations and recommending corrective actions
  • Investigate reported incidents, citizen complaints, and observed code violations
  • Implement safety procedures and address unsafe conditions or hazards
  • Maintain compliance with municipal regulations, company policies, and safety standards
  • Communicate effectively with property owners, contractors, municipal staff, and law enforcement or emergency agencies as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, violations, investigations, and corrective actions
  • Prepare clear, detailed, and timely inspection and enforcement reports
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in municipal code enforcement
  • Strong knowledge of local building, housing, zoning, and safety codes
  • Experience inspecting properties and documenting compliance issues
  • Well-organized with strong record-keeping skills
  • Willingness to learn and use new inspection or permitting software
  • Valid driver's license and state-minimum liability insurance for personal vehicle
Schedule
  • Part-time, on-call
  • Hours assigned based on business need
  • No guaranteed minimum hours
Compensation
  • $30–$40 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Work Location
  • In-person, field-based
