Summary

Gate Attendant - Part Time

Attendants must be able to communicate effectively. Gate Attendant must stand outside at the entrance to check vehicles as they enter the campus. Direct traffic. Re-direct pedestrians use sidewalks as they enter campus. Check to ensure that STCC issued parking hangtags are displayed. Provide directions to various locations on campus and issue instructions in a clear manner. Issue temporary parking permits as needed. Re-direct students operating motor vehicles to designated off campus parking lots. Remain professional during interactions. Report suspicious activity to the STCC Police Department. Report Clery Act Crimes to STCC police. Perform gate duties in all types of weather.

Candidate must have the ability to: Communicate effectively. Be personable and provide helpful information and instruction to visitors, staff, faculty, and students. Remain standing for duration of the shift. Operate electronic equipment to include a computer and telephone. Operate a two-way radio. Work with minimal supervision. Remain alert during heavy volume traffic to keep pedestrians and drivers safe. High School diploma preferred.

Salary: $17/hour, Up to maximum of 18.5 hours per week. Benefits: No. Union: Non-Union. Grant Funded: No. Closing Date: Open until filled. All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States. Springfield Technical Community College is not sponsoring H1B Visa.
