DISPATCHER

Summary

Job Title

Build positive relationships with drivers to best maximize retention levels, increase on time delivery percentages and achieve top-tier customer service.

Manage high volume of calls from owner operator, lease purchase, and/or company drivers and prioritize calls.

Communicate effectively and regularly with customers on issues, delays, etc.

Receive and dispatch orders for pick-up and delivery.

Enter data in computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities and other information.

Ensure full compliance with administrative policies and federal and state regulatory compliance to mitigate safety risks and improve efficiency.

Work one on one with the safety department on driver accidents, etc.

Keep accurate details on drivers' trailers, current trailer, dropped trailer, etc.

Issue advances and comchecks to drivers.

Report OSD to CSRs and/or claims department.

Update precise in and out times at shippers and receivers for drivers.

Other duties as may be assigned.

College degree in related field preferred.

Previous dispatch experience preferred.

Knowledge of the Trucking Industry/Refrigerator Transportation a plus.

Active listener with excellent communication skills.

Must have sound judgment and critical thinking skills.

Must be able to recognize when immediate action is necessary and to implement the required actions within a reasonable time.

Adaptable

Ability to manage high volume of calls and technology

Respectful and professional demeanor.

Strong time management skills.

Ability to handle stress well.

Weekend Day Shift: Thursday thru Sunday (7 am until 5 pm)
