IF ATTACHING A RESUME, RESUME MUST INCLUDE DATES OF EMPLOYMENT FOR EACH JOB (MONTH & YEAR) AND DETAILS OF WORK EXPERIENCE/JOB DUTIES*Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.Due to the available budget allocated for this position, the hiring rate will not exceed $28.41 per hour.Why does the job exist?This position will determine proper classification of inmates, determine placement into eligible programming and inmate release preparation.How does it get done?Determine:Classification of inmatesPlacement into eligible programmingInmate releaseWho are the customers?Experience in the following:Assisting interdisciplinary teams in the evaluation of offendersParticipating in follow-up services and providing monitoring of offendersInmate Classification processThe reentry processApplication of Good Time LawsMonitoring activities using a tracking systemIdeal CandidateThe New Mexico Corrections FacilitiesAssociate Degree from an accredited college or university in Guidance and Counseling, Penology, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Family Studies/Services, Criminology, or related field as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or experience in a correctional setting, records management, file auditing, case management, law enforcement, counseling, social work, government assistance programs, rehabilitative environment, working on health or social service-related matters, behavioral health, policy and/or statutory compliance totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required education.Employment RequirementsThis position is designated as safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing.Working ConditionsWork is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with inmates.
