Position Summary
This company is looking for a dependable and organized Dispatcher to coordinate daily transportation operations, communicate with drivers and customers, and ensure shipments are moved safely and efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can multitask, and has strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch drivers and equipment based on daily schedules and customer needs
- Monitor routes, deliveries, and driver progress throughout the day
- Communicate with drivers regarding schedules, changes, delays, and delivery instructions
- Communicate with customers and internal teams to provide shipment updates
- Adjust schedules and routes as needed to resolve transportation issues
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and dispatch documentation
- Assist with scheduling pickups and deliveries
- Ensure company policies, safety procedures, and transportation regulations are followed
- Handle unexpected issues and make quick decisions to keep operations moving efficiently
- Previous dispatch, logistics, transportation, trucking, or customer service experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Comfortable working with computers and transportation/logistics software
- Ability to communicate professionally with drivers, customers, and internal staff
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be dependable and able to work well under pressure
The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator who is organized, calm under pressure, and comfortable making decisions quickly. Someone with trucking, freight, logistics, warehouse, or transportation experience would be especially valuable.
Compensation
Pay: $ 40K + commissions
