The Town of Ross is located in the County of Marin, California approximately 13 miles north of San Francisco over the Golden Gate Bridge. Ross is 1.6 square miles and has approximately 2,550 residents. Town Center includes the wonderful Ross Common, the nationally renowned Ross School and the charming, albeit small, Ross commercial area.
Job Description
This position requires a truly outstanding person, who aspires to excellence in customer service and community engagement, is a committed team player, is politically astute, and has a strong background in public works and engineering. In addition, the selected candidate must be a hands-on manager who is well versed in the day-to-day operations of a municipal public works department. Ideally, but not required, the successful candidate will be knowledgeable about floodplain projects and/or projects along suburban waterways.
Job Requirements
Requires the equivalent of six years of increasingly responsible civil engineering experience in municipal or county government, with at least three years in a supervisory capacity, and Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university. A master’s degree in a field related to the role is preferred but not required. Candidates must possess a State of California Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer. California Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) is desirable.
The annual salary for this position is $179,340 - $207,612, depending on qualifications. The Town offers an outstanding benefit package including fully paid medical insurance for the employee and family, auto and cell phone allowances, a robust leave program, and flexible work schedule.
