The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, outgoing communicator who is passionate about civic engagement and committed to promoting Democratic causes. Political Canvassers are on the front lines of our campaign operations, having direct conversations with voters to inform, persuade, and mobilize support for candidates and initiatives.About the RoleAs a Political Canvasser, you'll play a critical role in the democratic process through face-to-face voter engagement. Responsibilities typically include delivering campaign messages, collecting petition signatures, and building lasting support for candidates and issues in your community.Primary ResponsibilitiesConduct in-person voter outreach through door-to-door canvassingDeliver persuasive, accurate messaging about candidates and ballot initiativesRecord daily data and submit reports to program leadershipConsistently meet or exceed outreach and engagement goalsRepresent North Shore Strategies with professionalism and integrityAttend trainings and team meetings to stay aligned on strategy and talking pointsBuild positive relationships with voters to strengthen community trustQualifications(For petitioning tasks) Must be a registered voter in your state of residenceAble to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week when a program is activeExcellent verbal communication skills and comfort engaging strangersReliable, goal-oriented, able to work independently and in a teamWilling and able to canvass outdoors for extended periods in varying weatherPrior experience in canvassing, sales, customer service, or community organizing a plus, not requiredStrong belief in progressive values and civic participationCapable of meeting deadlines and performance targetsAbout North Shore StrategiesNorth Shore Strategies is a New York-based political consulting firm with a national presence, offering campaign strategy, digital media production, targeted canvassing, and direct mail.
