Job Description
OverviewThe principal purpose of the Deputy Court Clerk II position is to enter and process all citations filed with the court. This allowsthe Deputy Court Clerk IlI and IV to review cases to respond to customer inquiries by phone, mail, email, and complete a thorough review of cases and warrants.
Responsibilities
• Enter and schedule case offenses for hearings such as: arraignment, pre-trial, bond hearings, property hearings, and administrative hearings
• Creates and files complaints for each case filed and processed
• Performs an audit of cases filed with the court for accuracy
• Thoroughly reviews cases to process for warrants and schedules the cases for hearings
• Check prospective jurors in for jury trial and create a jury list
• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
- Non Exempt - Full-Time
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
- In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

Qualifications
• High School Diploma / GED
• Six (6) months to one (1) year of experience
Licenses and Certifications
• Must be able to obtain Level I Court Clerk Certification within 18 months of employment
Required
• A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

• Physical Exam: Yes
Basis of Rating
A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications and may request additional information. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
