Job Description
OverviewWorks at the Nueces County District Attorney's Office. Manages, directs, and plans witness coordination between the Corpus Christi Police Department, area law enforcement agencies, and professional civilians for eight district courts and four county courts at law. Plan coordination of Police Department employee witnesses for criminal trials.
Responsibilities
• Manage, direct, and plan witness coordination between CCPD, and professional civilians for numerous courts at law
• Plan coordination of PD witnesses for criminal trials in Federal, juvenile, & family court; Legal Aid Office; Pro-Tem courts; Process subpoenas issued by Defense Attorneys for Officers
• Confer with prosecutors, advise prosecutor of impending problems related to the scheduling of witnesses
• Arrange meetings between prosecutors, Officers, Fire Dept., and/or civilian employees
• Contact witnesses, provide District Attorney Investigator with information to locate witnesses
• Assist Police personnel with a variety of legal forms and direct to the proper authorities
• Issue proper forms indicating time, date, and case number to off-duty Police Officers and civilian employees
• Ensure overtime is legitimate, review and maintain permanent record of overtime
• Maintain CCPD work schedules, off duty work, sick leave, injury, other leave and vacation records to coordinate court appearances
• Maintain a list of witness information and update any changes
• Maintain a log of witnesses that have moved out of the city
• Contact Police Department Property Room to prepare and make available evidence for court
• Request offense reports, solve identity of unknown names of Officers in reports
• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
- Non Exempt - Full-Time
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
- In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

Qualifications
• Associates Degree (AA/AS); or 2 year technical certificate
• Two (2) years of experience
Required
• A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating
A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications and may request additional information. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
