Responsibilities may include developing and managing district training and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures; reviewing complex high risk cases to audit processes and practices.Location: 1821 N 73 St, Omaha, NETravel Expectations: Regular travel within the district to support operations as part of our commitment to active community supervisionOccasional regional travel for orientation, training, and educational workshops.Work Schedule: Core hours are Monday-Friday daytime. As part of our 24/7 commitment to community safety, occasional on-call, evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required.Salary and Compensation: Starting Salary: $ 76,977.41 annually (Hiring Rate).Immediate Growth*: Earn a 2.5% pay increase after successfully completing your probation period.Starting Rate Flexibility: Higher starting pay may be considered based on education and experience, subject to final management approval.Please Note*: Candidates approved to start above the Hiring Rate (at or above the Minimum Permanent rate) are not eligible for the 2.5% post-probation increase.Future Increases: Annual cost-of-living adjustments (applied on July 1) are subject to State Legislature approval.Job Duties Manages and coordinates assigned district probation staff to include: planning, prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; coordinating staff training; and implementing hiring, discipline, and termination procedures.Assists the Chief Probation Officer in the development of policies and procedures for the probation department; participates in the development and implementation of strategic agenda, long range planning and program evaluation.Recommends and oversees the implementation of operating policies and procedures, audits and monitors compliance for district probation activities.Participates in the design, acquisition, and implementation of automation for the probation department.Prepares a variety of reports related to department performance, goals, budget, investigations, personnel, crime statistics, and/or other related issues.Evaluates lower level staff case plans and intervention strategies; ensures a standard of quality and compliance in approved strategies; provides guidance to lower level staff regarding challenging or unique cases.Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.Requirements / Qualifications: Education : Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related fields; andExperience: 1 year of supervisory, or management experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.Note: An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be accepted.All educational credits must be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education.Knowledge: Managerial principles;Principles, practices and procedures of probation services and administration;Federal, State and local laws, regulations, and procedure#J-18808-Ljbffr
