Corporate Security Officer (Unarmed)
Location: Stamford, CT
Job Type: 32 hours per week
Schedule: Weds, Thurs, Sat, Sun | Open Availability
Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour
About the Position
We are seeking a highly professional, motivated, and dependable Corporate Security Officer to join our security team. This role is essential in ensuring the safety and protection of employees, visitors, property, and sensitive information within a corporate environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, solid security knowledge, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively to a range of situations.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Protection: Conduct routine interior and exterior patrols to identify security risks, ensure doors and sensitive areas are secured, and maintain a safe environment. Access Control: Monitor and control entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, and ensure compliance with visitor management procedures. Surveillance Monitoring: Operate and monitor CCTV, intrusion detection systems, and other security technologies to identify irregularities or suspicious behavior. Incident Response: Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, disturbances, and requests for assistance. Evaluate situations and take appropriate action following company procedures. Report Writing: Prepare clear and detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and documentation of unusual occurrences. Customer Service: Interact with employees, vendors, and visitors in a consistently professional and courteous manner, offering assistance when needed. Policy Enforcement: Ensure compliance with all company rules, safety guidelines, and security protocols. Emergency Support: Assist in emergency preparedness drills, evacuations, and coordination with first responders. Risk Awareness: Identify potential hazards or vulnerabilities and promptly report them to management. Confidentiality: Maintain a high level of discretion when handling sensitive information or confidential incidents.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed as a Security Officer in the State of Connecticut (CT)
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods; ability to respond quickly in emergencies
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and report-writing platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- Corporate security experience, especially in a business or office environment
- Experience with access control platforms
- Experience with CCTV monitoring and security alarm systems
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification
- Training in de-escalation, conflict resolution, or emergency response
- Military, law enforcement, or security operations background
Education Requirements (All)
HS Diploma GED or H.S. Equivalent
