Part-Time Mobile Security Officer
Securitas is hiring a Part-Time Mobile Security Officer to provide driving-based security services throughout Downtown Boston and surrounding communities.
This is a multi-site mobile patrol position—not a stationary security assignment. The officer will operate a company patrol vehicle and travel between client properties during each shift.

The assigned route includes properties throughout Boston, Cambridge, Brookline, Chelsea, Quincy, Weymouth, Plymouth, and surrounding communities.
A valid driver's license and a clean driving record meeting Securitas Safe Driving requirements are required.
This is a professional driving position. The officer will operate a company patrol vehicle for a significant portion of each shift and must consistently follow traffic laws, posted speed limits, seatbelt requirements, and Securitas safe-driving policies.
Securitas patrol vehicles are equipped with Samsara vehicle-safety technology that monitors driving activity and behavior. Candidates must be comfortable working in a monitored company vehicle and receiving coaching or corrective action when necessary.
Safe and responsible driving is a condition of employment.
As a Mobile Security Officer, you will travel between multiple client properties and complete scheduled security services according to site-specific instructions.
Assignments may include scheduled or randomized patrol inspections, alarm response, guard checks, opening or securing facilities, key-control duties, and temporary site coverage. Officers work independently while remaining in communication with the Securitas operations team.
This position requires strong time management, accurate reporting, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate between properties throughout Boston and surrounding communities.
- Safely operate an assigned Securitas patrol vehicle throughout the shift.
- Travel between multiple client properties along an assigned route.
- Navigate city streets, highways, parking areas, and client properties safely and efficiently.
- Arrive at assigned locations within required service windows.
- Conduct exterior and interior patrol inspections according to client instructions.
- Inspect buildings, grounds, parking areas, doors, windows, gates, access points, lighting, and other security-related equipment.
- Identify signs of unauthorized access, forced entry, vandalism, suspicious activity, property damage, fire hazards, leaks, and unsafe conditions.
- Complete locking, unlocking, arming, disarming, and key-control duties when assigned and properly trained.
- Respond to alarm activations and dispatched calls and follow established escalation procedures.
- Contact supervisors, emergency services, client representatives, or the Securitas operations team when required.
- Use GPS, smartphones, mobile reporting applications, and other technology to document completed services.
- Prepare accurate and timely activity and incident reports, including photographs when required.
- Immediately report security concerns, route delays, vehicle issues, accidents, missed services, or situations requiring assistance.
- Securely maintain assigned keys, access devices, equipment, and patrol vehicles.
This position is best suited for someone who is dependable, safety-minded, observant, and comfortable working independently.
The strongest candidates will be able to manage an assigned route, follow detailed instructions, navigate throughout the Boston area, communicate professionally, and make sound decisions without constant supervision.
Candidates must be consistently available Friday and Saturday from 4:00 PM–12:00 AM.
- Valid driver's license.

- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English effectively.
- Strong written communication and report-writing skills.
- Comfortable using smartphones, GPS navigation, mobile applications, and digital reporting systems.
- Ability to work independently, follow detailed instructions, and manage time effectively.
- Dependable attendance and ability to report to work on time.
- Ability to drive for extended periods and frequently enter and exit a vehicle.
- Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, and conduct indoor and outdoor patrols in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to travel throughout Boston, Cambridge, Brookline, Chelsea, Quincy, Weymouth, Plymouth, and surrounding communities.
Previous experience in security, mobile patrol, alarm response, military service, law enforcement, public safety, delivery services, or another role involving independent fieldwork and professional driving is preferred but not required.
