Summary

Job description About the role Etsy's Seller Marketing team is the company's seller-facing growth engine, and the Community team brings Etsy's mission, Keep Commerce Human, to life through programming that makes sellers feel seen, celebrated, and connected. A big part of that happens in person: at markets, meet-ups, tentpole events, and brand activations where the Etsy brand and community comes to life, and sellers experience Etsy as a business partner. We're looking for a hands-on Community Events Manager to be the operational engine behind our in-person (IRL) markets and seller events. You'll work alongside our IRL Markets and Partnerships leads on a flagship set of multi-city market tests launching this year, taking events from plan to production to on-site execution. This is a role for someone who can hold the big-picture vision and sweat the smallest logistical detail, thrives in a fast-moving environment, and cares deeply about the craft of experience, designing meaningful moments that bring our brand to life and help our community connect, thrive, and feel celebrated. This is a 6-month contract with potential for extension based on business needs and performance. What you'll do Produce IRL markets end to end. Partner closely with the IRL Markets lead to take Etsy's flagship market tests from plan to production to on-site execution: build-out, seller vendor coordination, and event-day operations. Own the operational backbone. Build and manage run-of-shows, production timelines, staff briefings, budgets, POs, venue and vendor contracts, shipping and fulfillment, permits, and on-site staffing across all of our markets and seller events. Manage vendors and agencies. Source, brief, and manage external vendors, production agencies, and fabricators, keeping everyone on scope, on timeline, and on budget. Be a warm, reliable point of contact for sellers. Guide participating sellers from onboarding through on-site support and follow-up, making sure every seller feels prepared, supported, and celebrated. Design meaningful, memorable experiences. Translate Etsy's brand and Keep Commerce Human ethos into tangible moments, from space design and seller touchpoints to the details that help our community build community and leave feeling celebrated and invested. Coordinate cross-functionally. Work with community, social, comms, brand, and partnerships teammates so campaigns and stories land on the ground and travel back out to our channels. Build for the future. Create repeatable playbooks, track budgets and vendor performance, and capture recaps and learnings to sharpen every event that follows. What you bring 6 years producing large-scale events such as festivals, markets, activations, or conferences—with full ownership of planning, logistics, and on-site execution. Experience producing in-person vendor markets or fairs, with a strong understanding of what makes these events successful for participating vendors. A passion for creating meaningful community experiences. You’ve designed programs or events for small-business or creator communities and understand how to make participants feel supported, celebrated, and connected. Strong cross-functional collaboration, with a demonstrated track record of working effectively across different teams to move complex projects forward. Exceptional operational and project management skills. You can see the full picture while staying on top of timelines, shared tools, stakeholder follow-ups, and the logistical details that keep everything moving. Proven vendor and agency management, including budgets, contracts/POs, and holding partners accountable to scope and timeline. Excellent stakeholder and participant communication that's clear, warm, and dependable with everyone from senior partners to first-time sellers. A big-picture-and-details operator who can see the whole event while never dropping a logistical thread. Comfort with ambiguity and a fast pace, with the calm, judgment, and adaptability to solve problems on the ground. Willingness and ability to travel to multi-city events. Nice to have Familiarity with Etsy or the handmade and creative economy. Comfort with project management and collaboration tools like Asana, Airtable, and Slack. Experience producing pop-ups or retail activations. You've sold at markets yourself as a vendor, a bonus that brings real empathy for the sellers you'll support. Who you are You're a producer at heart — equal parts strategist and logistician, with a genuine passion for designing experiences that resonate. You care about the humans in the room, especially the sellers whose businesses are on the line at every event, and you design experiences that help our community build community and feel celebrated, supported, and invested. You stay steady when things move fast, you make partners and teammates better, and you take real pride in turning a plan into a live, memorable experience.
