School Based Bereavement Facilitator

Summary

Position Title : SCHOOL BASED BEREAVEMENT FACILITATORReports to : Clinical DirectorHours : 6-18 hours a week/ 24 weeks during the 2026-2027 School YearStatus : PT (Hourly) $35-40 based on experience, education, and licensureOverview: The School Based Bereavement Facilitator is responsible for providing bereavement counseling services by facilitating grief support groups for children in a school setting to address their emotional needs related to loss and grief in compliance with organization policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations. This position operates during the school year and follows the schools' schedule (all major holidays off including holidays, winter, and summer breaks). This position requires attending a curriculum-based training in the beginning of the school year to facilitate school-based grief support groups and facilitating 4 rounds of our six-week program throughout the school year in schools in New Castle County. Primary job responsibilities include the following:Direct Service ProvisionFacilitates Healing Pathways and Pathways Through Life curriculum in a school settingProvides external referrals and collateral information when clinically appropriateProvides consultation with school staff before and/or after grief support groups as neededRecords Management /Tracking/SurveysMaintains confidential client records adhering to all HIPPA regulationsCreates summary reports to include program enrollment data and evaluation of program effectivenessQualifications/SkillsMinimum of three years of experience providing therapeutic services with demonstrated clinical experience in the areas of grief and lossMinimum of three years of experience working with children in a group settingAbility to identify and manage crisis situations as they may arise by using your clinical experiences as a frame of referenceExceptional interpersonal skills, ability to express empathy and warmth and to maintain non-judgmental stance toward bereaved children and families (feels comfortable about talking about death, grief, and loss)Skilled in providing assessment of needs related to grief and loss and knowledge of linkage with community resourcesExcellent communication, counseling and facilitation skillsAbility to maintain a high level of professionalism, ethics, and confidentialityAbility to implement programs and to make modifications.Reliable transportation requiredEducation RequirementsRequired : Completion of an accredited Master's degree program with certification and licensure in the state of Delaware as a Professional Counselor of Mental Health, Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist, or other licensed Mental Health Professional/A member of the Division of Professional Regulation (DPR)#J-18808-Ljbffr
