Position Description:Duties:
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Promotes and maintains positive and effective working relationships and promotes good public relationships as a representative of Licking County Government.
- Receives and screens incoming departmental phone calls (e.g., responds to routine inquiries, forwards calls to appropriate party, takes messages); receives, screens and forwards information submitted to department to appropriate individuals.
- Performs administrative duties; operates computer to produce a variety of material from rough draft, oral recording, and/or written or oral instruction; completes forms; prepares, maintains, and retrieves departmental records and documents; receives, sorts, and screens mail.
- Receives, screens, and verifies information submitted to department (e.g., forms, requests, reports, applications, petitions, etc); uses information received to maintain and/or update records and files; forwards information to appropriate party according to established procedures.
- Posts, updates, and balances routine financial information (reconciles financial information) on an ongoing basis for EMA; prepares related financial reports; prepares purchase orders and requisitions; checks, compares and verifies invoices, statements, packing slips and related information; maintains and updates financial filing system. Manages procurement process and ensures timely acquisition of supplies and services.
- Manages the planning review process for projects within the Emergency Management Department.
- Coordinates Tier 2 Local Emergency Management Planning (LEPC) reporting and inputting into the required software ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Manages budget tracking, monitoring expenditures and supports fiscal planning.
- Manages FOIA requests.
- Conducts cursory school emergency plan and business contingency reviews.
- Maintains organized records management in accordance with retention policies.
- Assists with the administration of the various grants (includes SERC and EMPG).
- Coordinates functions to maintain department equipment within Center. Must be maintained at a state of high readiness.
- Assists with the operation of the EOC during activations. Oversees department in the absence of the Deputy Director-Administration and Planning and Director when called away for EOC activations and may be called out in the field as a backup.
- Ability to respond 24/7 when the EOC is activated.
- Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable PERRP safety standards that pertain to the essential functions of the position and all agency safety procedures.
- Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties; may be required to attend seminars/training; may be required to attend additional training as per the departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Performs a variety of customer service and office support functions to ensure efficient operations of the Homeland Security/EM Department.
Job Prerequisites:
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one (1) to three (3) years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Qualifications (Agency/Dept. Qualifications):
Valid Ohio Driver’s License, ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700 and ICS-800 within one calendar year of hire.
Compensation:
Salary: $22.00 to $25.00 per hour
