The company is seeking a reliable and vigilant Unarmed Guard to join our security team. This role is essential to maintaining a safe and secure environment for our facilities, staff, and visitors. Job Summary
As an Unarmed Guard, you will be responsible for monitoring premises, deterring unauthorized activity, and responding promptly to security concerns. You will serve as a visible presence that promotes safety and order while maintaining excellent customer service standards. This position requires strong observational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas on foot or via vehicle to monitor for suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations
- Monitor surveillance equipment, alarms, and access control systems to ensure site security
- Respond promptly to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies and follow established protocols
- Document daily activities, incidents, and safety observations in detailed written reports
- Greet and assist visitors, employees, and vendors while verifying identification and access authorization
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to safety, security, and facility access
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary
- Conduct regular inspections of doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper security measures are in place
Required Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey SORA (Security Officer Registration Act) certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during high-pressure situations
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, or holidays as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 6 months of prior security, law enforcement, or related experience
- Familiarity with surveillance systems and access control technology
- Experience working in commercial, residential, or corporate security settings
- CPR/First Aid certification
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in using two-way radios and communication devices
- Basic computer skills for incident reporting and documentation
- Working knowledge of surveillance camera systems and monitoring software
- Understanding of emergency response procedures and safety protocols
