Job Qualifications and Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY

In accordance with DHS protocols, the armed guard force is responsible for maintaining the overall security and integrity of the command. This includes protecting personnel, property, facilities, and critical assets. Officers provide access control services to ensure that unauthorized individuals, vehicles, or equipment are effectively deterred and denied entry or exit.

This role is ideal for armed security professionals, and those with prior military and law enforcement seeking to continue their service in a mission-critical environment. You will play a key role in safeguarding operations against threats such as theft, sabotage, civil disturbances, or other incidents that could disrupt continuity. Your experience, discipline, and situational awareness will directly contribute to maintaining a safe and secure facility.

COMPENSATION

Eau Claire, WI-

Hourly Rate or Salary Range $28.99/hr

Training Rate $18.00/hr

Health and Welfare $5.52/hr

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide professional armed security and access control services
Safeguard government property, classified materials, and personnel within assigned areas
Monitor and control entry and exit points to prevent unauthorized access
Respond decisively to alarms, emergencies, and suspicious activity
Apply prior training and judgment to identify and mitigate security risks
Enforce all security regulations and report violations
Maintain a strong working knowledge of all post orders and assigned duties
Complete clear, accurate, and timely incident reports
Perform heavy work, including exerting significant physical force when necessary
Stand for extended periods, including 12-hour shifts
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and extreme temperatures
Navigate uneven terrain, stairs, and ladders as needed
Operate in high-noise and high-risk environments (e.g., machinery, vehicles, firearms)
Use protective equipment, including respirators if required
Availability for extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Travel may be required
Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS
  • U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident
  • Minimum age of 21
  • Possess a valid Social Security Card
  • Minimum of two (2) years of armed security experience; OR
  • Minimum of one (1) year of full-duty law enforcement experience with a recognized agency; OR
  • Minimum of two (2) years of honorable service in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces
  • Demonstrated proficiency with a handgun and ability to meet all certification standards
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, including report writing
  • Familiarity with facility and/or vehicle security procedures
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to pass background investigation, drug screening, and physical examination
  • Ability to meet MRPT suitability requirements
  • Physically capable of performing all essential job duties
