Split Shift Dispatcher DATTCO has a full-time opening for a Split Shift Dispatcher in our Coach & Tour Division in New Britain, CT!DATTCO was founded in 1924 and entered the motor coach charter business in 1964 with the New York World's Fair. DATTCO is now New England's largest private passenger transportation company. Our Coach & Tour Group operates 200 vehicles and drives 6 million miles annually.Schedule: this role is a split shift scheduleMonday + Tuesday - 3pm-11pmWednesday + Thursday - 11pm-7amSunday - 7am-3pmScheduled days off - Fridays + SaturdaysHourly Rate: $27-32/hr Based on experience and shift.DATTCO Offers:Family-oriented culture & team environmentPromotion opportunities we promote from withinMedical & dental insuranceLife insuranceFlexible spending account401k plan with company matchPaid time offEmployee referral bonuses.Primary Responsibilities:Work with supervisors to ensure on-time departure of all vehiclesCheck-in drivers as they report to work including reviewing uniforms and providing work ticketsProviding information regarding Coach & Tour Division operations to customers and other staffUtilizing GPS and dispatching software to monitor operations of routes for accuracyWorking with drivers and other staff to address service issues/failures in a timely mannerReview driver itineraries for accuracy and address driver questions/concerns promptlyMinimum Requirements:Open availability to work mornings, nights, weekends and holidays, as required.2+ years dispatching experienceHigh school degree or equivalentBus operations experience preferredWell-developed planning and organizational skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentDetail oriented and customer focusedProactive mentality towards problem solvingStrong phone and verbal communication skills along with active listeningAdaptability to different personality typesAbility to work with computer systems and follow specific business rules for data entryProficient in Microsoft Office (primarily Word, Excel and Outlook)Ability to use internet or other tools to research trip and destination informationAbility to adapt to changing requirements at a moment's noticeMust be able to work in a team environmentATTENTION: This is a safety sensitive position as determined by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and requires inclusion in a random drug testing pool which determines the usage of prohibited substances, including recreational marijuana.Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, protected veteran status and any other protected classes.
