Summary
This position is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Office of General Counsel (OGC). The Office of General Counsel provides legal advice to the Director and OMB staff.Promotion to the next highest grade level is neither guaranteed nor implied.MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSAll applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standards.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCEApplicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.You may qualify at the GS-11 level, if you meet the following minimum qualification requirementOne year of specialized experience at the GS 9 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector, that demonstrates the following:Responding to requests for organizational records or other information;applying redactions to documents;Utilizing e-discovery tools.OREducation substitution: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (Note: You must provide a copy of your transcripts)ORCombination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must provide a copy of your transcripts)You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you meet the following minimum qualification requirementOne year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent in the private sector that demonstrates the following:Drafting and responding to requests for organizational information from third parties;applying redactions consistent with applicable legal requirements;Utilizing e-discovery toolsYou may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you meet the following minimum qualification requirementOne year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent in the private sector that demonstrates the following:Suggesting recommendations on policies;responding to requests for organizational information or other information from third parties;applying redactions consistent with applicable legal requirements;Utilizing e-discovery tools.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
