Job Skills / Requirements

Join our Special Events Team for a short-term, high-visibility project supporting Panda Fest at the Outlets of Des Moines. We are hiring a dedicated 10-person enhancement team to manage property logistics, parking, and public safety.

This project runs from September 29 through October 5, 2026. Your primary focus will be operational efficiency, traffic flow, pedestrian safety, and exceptional customer service-not criminal enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Operate a dedicated event vehicle to patrol outer lots, perimeters, and tenant parking.
• Enforce parking rules, monitor lot utilization, and keep emergency access routes clear.
• Respond immediately to localized calls for service.
• Patrol high-traffic pedestrian zones, including the festival entrance and storefront corridors.
• Provide a highly visible, welcoming presence to assist guests with questions or lost children.
• Direct vehicles to available parking, prevent entrance congestion, and manage lot closures.
• Enforce the one-way traffic pattern, prevent vehicles from blocking shuttles, and manage strict turn restrictions.
• Safely guide guests moving between the festival footprint and retail stores.
• Monitor and mitigate crowd congestion at choke points.

Position Requirements

• Must have a valid drivers license for a minimum if 3 years, have no major infractions
• Must be available to work the entire duration of the project (Sept 29 - Oct 5).
• Excellent communication skills with a heavy focus on customer service and wayfinding.
• Ability to stand, walk, or drive for extended shifts in outdoor environments.
• Strong situational awareness to manage traffic flow and pedestrian crowds.
• Ability to operate two-way radio equipment professionally.
