Summary
OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Lead Protection & Control (P&C;) Technician / Engineer to support utility, industrial, renewable, and EPC projects across transmission and distribution systems. This individual will lead field testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup activities for substations, relay protection systems, switchgear, and SCADA integration projects.The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader with hands‑on relay testing and commissioning experience who can mentor junior technicians, interface with customers, and drive projects safely and efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesLead P&C; testing and commissioning activities on utility and industrial substationsPerform acceptance testing, maintenance testing, and troubleshooting of protective relays and control systemsRead and interpret three‑line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and AC/DC elementary drawingsTest and commission SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Beckwith, and Basler relaysManage field crews and coordinate with customers, EPC contractors, and engineersDevelop and review test plans, switching procedures, and commissioning reportsEnsure compliance with NERC, OSHA, NFPA 70E, and customer safety standardsSupport outage planning and emergency response work as neededTravel to project sites throughout the regionQualifications5+ years of Protection & Control testing and commissioning experienceStrong understanding of utility substations and power systemsExperience with transmission and distribution systems preferredProficient with relay test equipment such as Doble, Omicron, and MeggerAbility to troubleshoot complex protection and control systemsStrong leadership and communication skillsAbility to work independently in the fieldValid driver's license and ability to travelPreferred ExperienceElectrical Engineering degree or technical trainingSCADA integration and RTU commissioning experienceExperience leading crews or managing field projectsUtility or renewable energy experienceWhat We OfferPer diem and travel opportunitiesCareer growth with a rapidly expanding organizationExposure to utility, industrial, renewable, and EPC projectsStrong team‑oriented culture focused on safety and technical excellence#J-18808-Ljbffr
