Senator Martin Heinrich (D-NM) seeks a Legislative Correspondent based in Washington, DC to work on policy and correspondence related to foreign affairs, defense, veterans, budget, and banking. This position is responsible for managing constituent correspondence in the assigned issue areas, regularly meeting with constituent groups, drafting memos and talking points, attending briefings, and summarizing materials assigned by Legislative Assistants.Ideal candidates will have outstanding written and oral communication skills; be highly organized; possess strong analytical and research skills; and be able to prioritize and follow through on multiple tasks simultaneously. Ties to New Mexico, an interest in the policy area, and/or fluency in Spanish are a significant plus.
