Job Objective To patrol an assigned district in the City of Little Rock in order to enforce laws and ordinances.Safety Sensitive This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.For a complete list of essential functions, please visit the full job description available on our website.Little Rock Police Department offers: Hiring Incentive of $10,000 - $5000 is payable upon swearing into department.Holiday Premiums available up to 4% of annual salary.Starting salary up to $74235.20, depending on agency size and years of service (up to four years credit allowed)Salary Step Increases up to $88,275.20 at 15 years of service.Benefits Effective First Day of Employment With No Waiting PeriodResidency Incentive Program of up to $5,000Longevity PayShift differentials.Second language incentives available to qualified candidatesEducational Incentives payable immediately after Academy graduation. Payments begin at 15 college credit hours and increase up to $2,254.04 annually for graduate degrees.Qualifications The candidate must possess a current active law enforcement Basic certificationThe candidate must possess a valid Arkansas Class "D" (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.The candidate must meet any other requirements established by the Little Rock Civil Service Commission and the State Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training.Human Resources will submit all candidates to LRPD personnel for a preliminary background check. If any of the following are found during the preliminary background, the candidate will be automatically disqualified:Invalid driver's licensePrior felony conviction - NOTE: Expunged and/or pardoned felonies still disqualify candidates from employment as a Police Officer.Prior domestic abuse convictionExcessive traffic points accrued within the past three years.#J-18808-Ljbffr
