The MVS Administrative Intern will help with general administrative tasks and provide support to the team at Easterseals Redwood Military & Veterans Services Center.
Essential and Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and organizing documents
- Answer phones and greet visitors in a friendly, professional manner
- Help prepare reports, letters, and other materials
- Support staff with scheduling, meetings, and special projects
- Maintain accurate records and office organization
- Keeps Manager Military & Veteran Services informed of day-to-day operations.
- Maintains confidentiality of individual files and other sensitive subject matter.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading publications related to veteran issues and maintaining and growing personal networks.
- Supports and works with team members by conducting business ethically and with integrity; demonstrates respect for fellow colleagues; shows dedication to improving quality and is committed to customer service.
- Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Makes timely and effective decisions in the absence of perfect information.
- Demonstrates appropriate culture in alignment with the Easterseals Redwood mission, vision, philosophy, values and standards.
- Values cultural diversity and best recognizes and utilizes individual abilities, skills, and characteristics when collaborating with others to complete work tasks.
- Employs active listening skills and effective time management skills.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal communication skills to foster positive working relationships with others.
- Enrolled in college or recently graduated
- Reliable and punctual
- Good phone and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Background or interest in veterans' services is welcome
- High School Diploma or GED required;
